Overrated? Maybe a little

The NFL interview process started last week by the start of the NFL combine for all want to be professional football players to make there case on why they should get drafted. The combine is in some way overrated. Players can move from getting drafted in the third- fourth round to second maybe first just on if they run a good forty time. Also players draft stock can drop if they don't bench press a decent amount and the scouts then think they are weak. I think the combine is great but all this stuff means nothing when it comes down to actually playing football. So that corner that ran a 4.33 second forty cover a wide receiver on a huge third down play and not get beat? A forty cant tell you that, watching game tape might. The best way to judge talent is watching tape and seeing if the player makes the same mistake over and over. Or if the player corrects the mistake and improves on it. So the combine is great but it shouldn't make a player lose millions because they didn't run a blazing 40 time and then get drafted lower than expected.

Pick a school already!

A couple weeks ago was signing day for college football and the number one high school prospect Terrelle Pryor was suppose to sign with either Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon or Penn State. Well, he ended up choosing none of them. So here all of college football still awaits the decision of this phenom. Yet he didn't pick a school because he felt that he had no time to make a decision once football got over due to basketball and that he needs more time. No. He should have signed just like every one else had too. He is not the only two sport athlete that plays football and basketball. A lot of the kids played basketball who signed places and yet still made their decision on time.
Plus he hurt all 4 of the schools that he has high interest in. The 4 schools could have used that one scholarship they were holding for him on another blue chip prospect or another player that could have helped out there team. It was a selfish act by him and he needs to just pick a school so we can all stop checking scout or rivals.com to see where he might have signed that day.

Enough is Enough with Steroids

If I could press the fast forward button on life just to get through all these sterio
d alegations I would. When ever you turn on SportsCenter, the first story is always about Roger Clemens saying the same thing and his trainer saying that Roger is lieing. I will have more respect for either of them if they just admit to it. I do not have any problem with Andy Pettite, even after admitting to steriod use. I believe him when he says he used it to get back to full health faster, and not to get an advantage on his oppenents. He went through a couple day of getting critized and it was done. Now Clemens will just keep getting critized through this whole long process. I just want to be able to watch a baseball season and see records be broken without wondering was this guy or this guy on the juice.
